Brigden, Thomas Edwin
1852-1936; e.m. 1880

WM minister, born in Worthing. A historian of early Methodism, he was a founder member of the Wesley Historical Society and editor of its Proceedings. He taught at Westminster College while stationed in London circuits. He was a keen collector of books, pamphlets and engravings. He collaborated with Bp. J.F. Hurst on the British volumes of his History of Methodism (1902) and wrote the chapter on John Wesley in the New History of Methodism (1909). He died at Sutton, Surrey, on 17 November 1936.
