Carter, Ralph Graham
1943 -  ; e.m. 1966

President of the Conference in 2006, born in Sunderland and educated at Bede Grammar School Sunderland and Queens’ College Cambridge (BA 1965, MA 1969). Accepted for the ministry in 1964 he was trained at Hartley Victoria College 1965-67. After circuit appointments in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (Brunswick Central), Blyth & Seaton Delaval, Birkenhead, Liverpool (North Central) and Durham & Deerness Valley he was appointed to the chair of the Darlington District in 1997. He was religious producer for BBC Radio Merseyside from 1987 to 1992. He became a supernumerary in 2008.
