This denomination is made up largely of people of Caribbean origin associated with the Pilgrimage Holiness Church, which originated in the USA in 1897. In 1977 it had 13 churches and about 500 members in Britain, with headquarters in Handsworth, Birmingham. Its parent body united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church of America (not connected with British WM) in 1968, adopting the name 'Wesleyan Church'.
