Hain, Sir Edward, JP

Shipping magnate, of Treloyhan Manor, St. Ives, Cornwall. He was a member of Bedford Road MNC church, St. Ives. He was Liberal Unionist MP for West Cornwall from 1900 to 1906, Sheriff of Cornwall in 1912 and six times Mayor of St. Ives. In 1910-1911 he was President of the Chamber of Shipping of the United Kingdom. He died on 20 September 1917. His home Treloyhan Manor, built in 1892, became a Wesley Guild Holiday Home in 1948.
