Grant, George Frederick
1843-1930

Businessman, born in Boston, Lincs. While still in his teens, he founded a prosperous leather-working business in Hull. He belonged to the Coltman Street WM chapel in Hull. He was a generous philanthropist and, along with his friend Thomas Robinson Ferens supported the founding of Hull University College, endowing several professorial chairs.
