Bibliography of Methodist Historical Literature - retrospective edition.

The annual Bibliography of Methodist Historical Literature has been compiled by Dr Clive D. Field since 1974 and is regularly published in the Proceedings of the Wesley Historical Society (as a supplement thereto since the 1987 edition of the bibliography).

The bibliography records writings on the history of British and Irish Methodism.

To facilitate retrospective searching, a cumulative PDF file has now been created of the annual editions for 1974-2011 inclusive, extending to 635 pages. This file is freely available for anybody to access and can be found at:

Annual bibliographies from 2012 to date are currently only available to members of the Wesley Historical Society as part of their membership subscription. However, in due course, the open access cumulative file will be extended.

For pre-1974 publications, there is a rather more selective listing in Field's 'Bibliography', in A History of the Methodist Church in Great Britain, Vol. 4, general editors: Rupert Eric Davies, Alfred Raymond George, and Ernest Gordon Rupp, Epworth Press, 1988, second impression, 2000, pp. 651-830 (reprinted by Wipf & Stock, 2017). This is not available online.
